Described as ‘exceptional - thrilling and sensitive by turns’, 30-year-old Drew Steanson is a classical pianist based in London and Oxford.
He started receiving piano lessons in January 2007, and in 2011 started his undergraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music. In 2015 he moved to study with Martin Tirimo, Peter Tuite and Sergio de Simone at Trinity Laban and then in 2018 with Alessandra Brustia in Bolzano, Italy.
Recent performances include concertos by Rachmaninoff and Grieg and recitals in Germany, Ukraine and Russia. He was a finalist in the 1st International Medtner Competition in St Petersburg 2016 and winner of the Rome Liszt Competition 2022 (Danubia Talents).
Drew has played in many of London's most prestigious concert halls including the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, St James's Piccadilly, Steinway Hall and at Inner Temple in the Temple Young Emerging Artists Series.
Drew has played to many distinguished pianists including Idil Biret, Vladimir Tropp, Boris Berman and Angela Hewitt.
Future recitals include a solo recital in St Martin in the Fields (June 2024) and a concerto appearance with the Elgar Sinfonia (November 2024)
Drew became a Young Steinway Artist in April 2016.
